Eclipse on Air: Radio Segments on WBUR & WGBH

There’s something special about talking science on the radio—bringing complex concepts to life through conversation, sharing stories, and connecting with listeners in real time. Recently, I had the chance to do just that when Dope Labs was invited to discuss the upcoming total solar eclipse in April 2024 on two Boston radio shows!

WBUR’s Radio Boston: Fun Facts & Safety First!

My first stop was on WBUR's Radio Boston to talk all things solar eclipse. We dove into some fun and lesser-known facts about the eclipse, including how ancient cultures interpreted these celestial events and what makes this one unique. Of course, we also covered the all-important topic of safety—how to view the eclipse safely and why it’s critical to protect your eyes.

I had such a great time! If you missed the segment, you can listen to the full audio clip right here:

WGBH with Jim & Margery: A Live Audience Experience

Next, I joined Jim & Margery on their radio show at WGBH, broadcasting live from the Boston Public Library. The energy was electric with a live studio audience, and it was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm about the upcoming eclipse. We chatted about the science behind the eclipse, what to expect in Boston, and anticipating bad weather on the day of the eclipse.

The entire experience was a blast, and I loved having the audience there—there's nothing like the excitement of a live audience! You can watch the full segment on YouTube here.

Looking Forward to the Total Solar Eclipse

As we gear up for the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, I hope these segments help you feel more prepared and excited. Whether you're planning a viewing party, looking for the perfect spot to see it, or just curious about the science, there’s so much to explore and enjoy.
